The legendary show was captured on film and the result, Celebration Day, is now available on DVD and Blu-ray. The two-hour feature length film is presented in high definition video with excellent audio quality (5.1, 48 khz/20 bit hi-resolution audio surround sound). The aspect ratio is 16x9. Already garnering critical acclaim, the film is directed by Dick Carruthers, who worked with Led Zeppelin on their award-winning 2003 release DVD, and includes the entire 16-song concert.
A bonus DVD in the deluxe versions features the dress rehearsal at Shepperton Studios, filmed a few days before the O2 concert. The band play the entire set that was performed at the O2, and the DVD provides a unique insight into the concert buildup. The rehearsal is filmed by a single camera in SD and recorded in stereo.

It is quite extraordinary how well they all have kept up their technique. The songs DO remain the same. The atmosphere is also fantastic - the ones in attendance aren't just snobs with money - they are all great fans, and yes, probably fans with a lot of money ... :-) I read that 20 Million wanted tickets to the show - only 18,000 could get in. And they get a show that does not tell on the guys that they are old, except for some notes that Mr. Plant cannot reach anymore, and the fact that he is not moving about with the same vigor. It does not matter at all here. Jason Banham knows more about the drumming of his late father John than he did himself, it seems - he has an extraordinary technique. And they all gel so well. This is truly a celebration - to healthy rock'n'roll, to having a good time, to dance, to sing-along, and to a morning-after tinnitus. The filming works also as a means to make the show intimate for the viewers of this disc - we do get up close, while not disturbing the players. As a concert film, it ranks among the ten best I have ever seen.

Led Zeppelin at their best, so crisp, so professional. I would have happily paid a couple of grand to see this live. You are pretty much there watching the DVD. The closeness of the band members along with Jason Bonham is obviously very special and can be seen throughout the DVD. You'll never tire of watching it and Kashmir is to die for.
